PREPARING THE ARK
The national geographic channel’s Doomsday Peppers is a popular TV show that explores the lives of Americans who are preparing for the end of the world. It should not be a surprise that this show is popular. Scripture says that, “As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.” (Mt. 24:37) Like Noah’s day there is a call to prepare for the days ahead.
The Questions We Cannot Answer

Recently at the ministry center we received reports of two children that suddenly passed away. One was the nine month old son of a noted minister and the other a two year old granddaughter of one of our faithful ministry partners who often volunteer for the ministry. When we receive this type of news, the first words that we ask ourselves is, “Why?”
The Word of God is filled with laws, commandments, instructions and admonitions. It also answers many spiritual, judicial and moral questions as outlined in the principles established in the Scripture. The Bible does answer many questions, even questions from a practical perspective. However, there are times when there is no answer to the questions, “Why didn’t God prevent this?” or “Why did God allow this?”
Waiting for the Spring to Come
For those who believe the earth is warming up and the winters are not as cold as they once were, they haven’t passed through Tennessee in the past 60 days! While we have had no snow or ice, the weather has been extremely cold. At times the days pass without ever seeing the orange glow of the sun. I am sure the people living in the northeast that recently experienced a major blizzard are wishing for “global warming “to return. This debate goes back and forth and there are opinions and “evidence” for and against the belief. This one thing I do know…I am anticipating the end of winter and the beginning of spring.
While winter is one of the four seasons God gave at the beginning of creation, the weather of winter is different in various parts of the world. On the east coast, cold will eventually give way, the singing of bird’s returns, the warm sunshine beating across your brow and the smell of flowers blossoming will be greatly welcomed!
The Trunk and The Branches
Recently, Perry conducted a special Thursday evening meeting at the Extreme with the staff of Voice of Evangelism and the many wonderful people that consider the Extreme and OCI a part of their present life and future destiny. It was our desire to have the VOE and OCI groups together to explain the connection between the two ministries. Even some of our long time partners have asked where all of what is presently occurring actually fits in with the whole picture.
Wishing You a Great Christmas Season This Year
Perry and I both love the fall months. We especially enjoy the college football seasons, and yes, once again it turned into an interesting outcome. Alabama is headed into a national championship game for the second straight year! With this said, I will leave that alone to prevent any “bad feelings” being stirred! (Ha-ha). Getting back to the seasons, we not only enjoy the fall months but I personally enjoy December. It is the only month of the year when I feel like I have Perry for myself and for the family. He is at the office every day for ten or more hours in preparation for the coming year, but at least he is home, in church with me and we get to enjoy the season.
