The Women of Hope - Important
If you have attended the Main Event in Hixson, then you are familiar with the Women of Hope Ministry which is directed by Connie and David Herring. The ministry is directed and centered around women who have struggled with alcohol and drug addiction. Formerly located in Ellijay, Georgia, under the direction of the Holy Spirit, the ministry was moved to Cleveland and the VOE was able to provide a large house for ministry operations and a place where the women can come and receive ministry.
Remember that when you help the least of these you are helping the Lord!
It has been our blessing to watch so many of the women grow in the grace and the knowledge of the Lord as they complete the 16 month program and move on to a job. We’ve seen many enter the work place and continue to remain whole and clean through the instruction they have received at the “Hope House.” The house holds as many as 24 women and presently has about that many women going through the program. At times the Hope House is the last stop between a woman and prison, or a woman and pre-mature death.
Mrs. Connie has never turned anyone away regardless of the great expense to operate such a major outreach. There is a major electric bill, food for meals, fuel for vans and transportation, supplies and materials for the outreach, laundry and the list goes on.
Each month the Hope House is investing more money than it is receiving. This burden has been carried personally by David and Connie but has become such a heavy burden that they are no longer able to carry the load. Recently they lost their property in Ellijay and have struggled in recent months to maintain.
I have suggested that I share this with those of you who read my article on the web site, and give you an opportunity to make a special gift to the Hope House directly, or perhaps donate groceries, supplies, or other needed items for these women. There is a need for a new van for transportation as Mrs. Connie often transports the women to the Extreme on Tuesday nights. Any donation of money or goods is greatly needed and appreciated. Perhaps you would like to sponsor a woman for the first three months. Or perhaps you know of a women who is under heavy addiction who needs to come apart and receive help through such a ministry. You may contact Mrs. Connie directly or contact our office for contact information. Remember that when you help the least of these you are helping the Lord!
Love and Prayers,
